After as many albums as I have heard from you this year, I would say this is the most solid. I enjoyed the threatening tracks you chose. You write great riffs, I just like think that you should make it a band...but you know that as I tell you almost every review :P

Cheers Mike.

The Blackest Dawn
- It's got like a slower Order Of The Dragon kinda' feel to it. I like that. 5/5
Legions Arise
- I just love the fast and heavy riffs in this one. 5/5
Silent Holocaust
- That was one badass solo, probably my favorite part of this one. Oh and the outtro too. 5/5
March and Conquer
- Man I love this.. when are you gonna' start doing music videos to some of these? 5/5
Trail of Blood and Fire
- My favorites would have to be the heavy chorus and the riff under the solo. Nice! 5/5
Engage and Annihilate
- Perfect intro to match the title, I especially like how the drums come in faster after. 5/5
Hateful Dominion
- I like the heavy outtro the most. Bit of Dawn Of Destruction in there. 5/5
Army of The Dead
- This might just be my favorite on the album... it's so fucking epic!! 5/5
Threads of Sanity Will Unravel
- Fantastic ending, caught me by surprise! 5/5
Mistress of Carrion
- The song definitely lives up to its title. You have a knack for composing powerful choruses. 5/5
Plagued By Anguish
- Again.. you have a knack for composing powerful choruses. Nice work on this one man! 5/5
Instruments of Obliteration
- You picked the best song to end the album. I especially liked that quiet beginning.. 5/5

You did good Mike, this was a good listen. I hope Theda checks it out soon. I would rate 'Legions of The Netherworld' 10/10

Scourge of Tyranny (5/5)
I like the opening, it has a very vivid kind of vibe to it. Solo is pretty tight too.
I like that riff under the solo as well.

Dark Messiah (5/5)
I always remember this one, heh. A bit of heavy thrash metal there with the re-recording aye? It sounds real clean, I like it.

Void of Souls (5/5)
Chorus sounds like something from a lucid nightmare, it's awesome. The drums make it stand out more too.

Infidel Avenger (5/5)
This song has some really badass riffs, so glad I can hear them more clearly now. Heh.

Spectral Invaders (5/5)
This is a pretty epic song, with a pretty epic solo.

Essence of Nightfall (5/5)
Wow, sounds very different compared to the previous recording of it.

Where Abomination Dwells (5/5)
Kicks ass, all the way through! Just as it did before.

Losing His Touch (5/5)
Nice cover, Mike! This would've kicked even more ass if you were able to get a vocalist into it.. 'cos this song has some pretty cool lyrics to it.

Flag of Hate (5/5)
Great choice of Kreator cover there.

Dead Skin Mask (5/5)
Wicked!! Disciple would've been a cool one to cover, but this is just as good.

Mike, I thought it would be useful for your Constant Threat project if you received a review by a fellow guitarist and musician. So I asked my boyfriend Dave S. if he could review your album "Descending Doom". He agreed, and this evening we both sat and listened to the album. His review is as follows:

From my perspective, the whole album seems rushed and thrown together. While there are a handful of quality riffs on here, not enough time was invested into the songs themselves to bring them to their greatest potential. The result is a mesh of riffs and fillers that seemingly have no direction. Perhaps the addition of some lyrics and vocals would give the songs that extra something and the direction they need. If however, instrumental songs is the purpose and goal here, more time and thought needs to be put into the structuring of each song. There is potential here, it is just not realized yet.

-Dave S.

I hope it's not weird that I decided to review your album this way. I just figured it would be of more use for you if a musician explained his views on the album. I'm not skilled in guitar mechanics so, it's not easy for me to write technical reviews about your riffs. What I can tell you is based on if I like the feel and sound of your cd as a whole. I also figured that you've heard me explain in your past album reviews how I feel about your briskness and rushyness in your music. I felt that again with Descending Doom, I really enjoy your riffs but I feel like they can be put into awesome use if you developed your song composition approach.

I hope I don't sound to harsh Mike, I don't mean to. It's just some constructive cristism : )

-Theda

All Shall Perish - 5/5
Best bloody solo man! Love the outtro too.

Impending Chaos - 5/5
Got a strong opening here. I especially like the rhythm under the solo.

Swarming From Above - 5/5
Main verse and chorus kicks ass! Definitely moshpit-worthy material! :D

Lifedrainer - 5/5
Tight man, you nailed that solo real good. Even better with the rhythm under it!

Ectasy of The Kill - 5/5
Good theme for such a title, I like it! Perfect outtro!!

Terror Manifests - 5/5
This has got a bit of that oldschool Morbid Angel kind of feel to it.

Shadows Converge - 5/5
Powerful opening, drums coming in like that almost blew me off my seat. Haha.

Suicide Serenade - 5/5
Got a very alternative sound here, pretty epic though I must say!

In The Arms of Madness - 5/5
Again, another epic sounding song. Clever outtro..

Throes of Eternal Night - 5/5
Final Conflict meets The Onslaught Has Begun!!

Rendered Unto Oblivion - 5/5
You picked the right sound for the last track on the album. Spot on man.

Thanks for listening, and I appreciate your honesty. Maybe it seems rushed because I don't play to a metronome. who knows.
I haven't recorded a song by playing all the riffs in one track since probably "final conflict". Maybe I should go back to doing that, but then there's the risk of having the chorus sounding different the second time it's played..etc.

I listened to 'Venomous Hatred' over the weekend more than once. In order to give you a review that would be true to what I felt about the album. I know you are a serious musician and that you love creating your art and expressing it very much, I respect that. and I want to be truthful with you as a friend and a very big fan of extreme metal, as you know.

I think you create some really sick sounding riffs, but i felt that they were done in a sloppy manner and i think this album feels a bit rushed for me. I know i tell you everything i think, lol but id like to hear more depth in your work perhaps that some more time to develop each track and dont rush one out so soon.

I still appreciate your honest approach to your music, my criticism is not to put you or your art down but it is in hopes that you will receive it with an open mind and i can someday in the near future see Constant Threat evolve into something amazing.
